When the new Narrows Bridge was in the planning and design stage, replacement grounds were being planned and allocated for the City of Tacoma’s War Memorial Park which was located in the path of the new bridge. The new park replaced the original one that was built in 1952. The new facility is located at the southeast corner of Jackson Ave. and State Route 16 and consists of over three acres of manicured lawn and memorial showpieces. Entrance to the memorial can be made from the north side of 6th Ave. at the intersection of 6th Ave. and McArthur St. |
